I organised a surprise trip to Barcelona for my husband's 40th birthday. But it all started off a bit badly. A month earlier I had fallen while ice skating and broken my radial head, so for various reasons I still had my whole left arm in a cast. Then, the departure was from Ciampino with Ryanair, so I had planned to keep the surprise until the last moment; instead the pope died and since Ciampino had been literally taken over for the funeral, I was forced to ruin the surprise and tell him earlier so we could see together where to depart from... and we were even lucky that we managed to avoid Pescara and were rerouted to Fiumicino at 4.30 in the morning.....! After that, 3 days alone for once without the children, went well anyway. Barcelona must be seen and above all experienced, even if I personally re-evaluated it a lot only by thinking about it a few months later....
