First evening wandering around the city. We reach Calle Mateos, enlivened by many little tapas bars. So many people on the street crowding not only the inside but also the outside of the bars, sitting at little tables on the sidewalks, on stools or small barrels. What vitality...based on jamon, queso and cerveza. Not to be missed...the worthy "bien venidos" of the city!!!
The Gothic Cathedral of Seville looks imposing to tourists as soon as they arrive in the city. Inside you're a bit disappointed due to the restoration work involving the entire west wing. I thought I'd find more curious onlookers around Columbus's tomb, or at least the supposed one. I only met a group of Americans who, thanks to their guide, lingered a bit...and I was among them. There seems to be a dispute with Santo Domingo over who keeps the true remains of the famous navigator. On the whole, the cathedral is, of course, worth a visit.

The blue sky and a shining sun frame one of the most spectacular views of Seville...the Plaza de Espana. An enormous square, with a central fountain and arcades decorated with azulejos that embrace it.
