The story

A wonderful little 10-day holiday spent between Madrid, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria in the pleasant company of Olga.. Not very easy to organise, above all because of obtaining her tourist visa. In September she buys a flight from Moscow to Madrid with Iberia for 320 euros and I first buy an Easyjet flight from Milan to Madrid for 70 euros (return), then for both of us I buy a one-way flight to Fuerteventura and a return flight from Las Palmas, again with Air Europa (4 flights for 200 euros!!). Once we had the flights we only needed her visa, which fortunately we managed to obtain.. So on the evening of Friday 26 October, around 20.00, I arrive at the gigantic airport of the Spanish capital.. Since Olga's flight would arrive around 23.00, I waited inside the airport for her arrival in Madrid.

With the very convenient metro, in half an hour we reached the city centre, taking possession of the room booked online at the Hostal Pereda. After spending the whole night out on the town, in the morning we returned to the airport where at 13.00 our flight to Fuerteventura was waiting for us. In Fuerteventura we settled for 4 nights at the Aparthotel Castillo de Elba, located in Nuevo Horizonte, a village of very recent construction. The ocean of Fuerteventura has very bright colours, and since this island lies close to Africa it has inherited a little of those atmospheres and those magical, intoxicating scents. Some of the island's sun-drenched, boundless beaches make you think of a natural continuation of the Sahara desert.

Olga and I, after the first day spent around our accommodation, rented a car with which we practically toured the whole island from Corralejo, where there is a beautiful Natural Park of Dunes, to the Morro Jable lighthouse, passing through beautiful and unspoiled places. On Wednesday 31, around 13.00, we left our little apartment in Nuevo Horizonte to take a bus that took us back to Morro Jable, from where at 18.00 a ferry left for Las Palmas. So after this 3-hour "mini-cruise", around 22.30 we had already settled into the Hotel Atlanta in the capital of the Canaries. After the first night spent out on the town in Las Palmas until 7.00 in the morning (here too Halloween was being celebrated), we devoted the remaining ones to a very relaxed visit of the city.

On 3 November, having left Gran Canaria to return to Madrid, we devoted the whole last day to visiting the ever fascinating Spanish capital. I then extended my stay in Madrid by one day, since my return flight to Milan had been cancelled.
