Formentera, a magical island with unique colours, with shades impossible to forget. We stayed for a week in an apartment at the "Sabina Playa" residence in La Savina, the island's port, a lovely place with a small pool and a view over a little bay full of small boats that alone gave you a sense of serenity, above a very nice, trendy and romantic little restaurant, the "Caffè del Lago". On Formentera you really must rent a scooter to enjoy it; the beaches are all enchanting, from Cala Saona, set in an inlet of reddish earth with white sand and sea... well, postcard sea, to Migjorn beach, the longest (about 8 km), where peace is guaranteed and the sea is crystal clear; wonderful too are the beaches of Llevant and Ses Illetes, two sides of the same beach, where besides a charming sea you can follow the course of the sun from one side to the other.
Beyond its beaches, Formentera has a great deal to offer; dreamlike places are Cap de Barbaria, the island's tip closest to Africa, a lunar landscape, the lighthouse, the cliffs... unforgettable emotions. Far de Formentera (La Mola), the island's highest point; charming the little village of Sant Francesc with its alleys and its white church. If you truly manage to grasp the spirit of Formentera, you'll discover that it really is magical.
