Zarautz & Donostia

Summer 2003: a holiday decided at the last minute.. this year too, with no clear ideas. Then one day in early August, at the village bar, I, Tecio, Diego and Spada decide to join 2 friends of ours who were already in the Basque Country... We set off by car in Diego's "Corollino". Having arrived in Zarautz after a fairly calm journey, we too settle into the Guipuzcoa campsite, which sits on top of a hill with a great view. We arrived with nothing but our tents... completely unprepared. Luckily our 2 friends and the people we met at the campsite always helped us, both with cooking and with everything we were missing. It was a lovely holiday; relaxing.... We also went to the Basque festival of San Sebastian (Donostia), where the people go completely wild, and to Bilbao... Among others, at the campsite we met 2 "no limits" lads from Cuneo, with whom we got on wonderfully...

The only negative note... the patches of oil left by the tanker 'Prestige' the previous year. A real ecological disaster!!
