The story

On the occasion of the Motta Visconti festival, Bello and I decided to take a short holiday, and so, having found a Ryanair return flight to Seville for 32 Euros, we went to visit Guido (a friend of ours who had been living in Tarifa for 3 years). Arriving on the morning of the 23rd in sweltering Seville, we reached Tarifa with Guido and Mariluz (his partner at the time), who were in the main Andalusian city to buy a sofa bed to put in their house; a home they always rented out to passing tourists in summer. During this short stay we lodged in Guido's little house, less than 200 metres from the sea. I slept every night (sometimes into the mornings....) on the sofa on the balcony. Falling asleep lulled by the sound of the waves is nothing short of enchanting.

During those days we went to several beaches: Bolonia, on a dune not far from Tarifa, and above all the magnificent beach of Los Caños de Meca!! The most beautiful, both for the people and for the sea and for everything around it: from the campsite to the little waterfalls. In the evenings the fun was guaranteed. Since Guido was working, Bello and I almost always went out with Mariluz, who got home from work around midnight. There's no shortage of bars and clubs, and there are plenty of parties on the beaches at night too. As for restaurants, I can recommend the Hotel Arte Vida Miramar, the hotel/restaurant where Guido worked. We didn't pay thanks to him; anyway, even if it's a bit pricey, it's really excellent!! Here in Tarifa there's also a nice community of Italians, almost all Neapolitans.

As Cuffietta says... "I'm off!! TARIFA..SC SC SC...."
