Well... the holidays have come again this year too... Where are we going? Europe? South America? The rest of the world? IF ONLY...!! No! This year my girlfriend and I feel a bit Spanish.... So? SPAIN but in IBIZA though....
Day 129 Jul 2006
Milan-Eivissa
Well.... We leave work with a 456-tooth smile!!!! Destination Malpensa terminal 2.... We arrive practically 20 minutes before takeoff.... (Great start!!) There are four of us at departure... none of us has ever been to the isla bonita!!! Takeoff and trip excellent.. we begin to make out the various Balearic islands.... Already from above I understand that these really are the pearls of the Mediterranean... the view is spectacular!!! At the airport we're welcomed by the guys from the volando club.. transfer to the Hotel Impero Playa San Vicente... 28 km from Ibiza.... The hotel is really nice even if far from the center, no big deal.... We have the car.. a brand-new Micra! We arrive at 7 but as soon as I enter the room I'm already in my swimsuit and..... Splash..... Straight into the sea... the water is boiling hot.... and already Milan seems only a memory.

Day 230 Jul 2006
Exploring the surroundings....
First full day in Ibiza.. Bright and early (10:00) I go with Silvia (my girlfriend) to the BetaCar rental place to pick up the car and my On the Road vacation begins.... or almost...! First stop the nearby town of San Joseph and Portinax... Two tiny little towns (Portinax is a small city....) compared to ours they look like just neighborhoods.... Very characteristic, very Spanish!!!!! We go to the "beach" at Portinax but we're a bit disappointed since there's no sand.... we'll discover later that the whole northern part of the island is like that except for our cove... evening at the only club there is in San Vicente.... then off to bed, tomorrow we're going to Ibiza Town!!!!

Day 331 Jul 2006
Ibiza..The city of perdition!
Alright today we're going to Ibiza or Eivissa, call it what you will! After about twenty minutes by car...(Here everyone drives super slowly because the traffic police are super strict... it seems like a paradox but that's how it is....) we arrive in Ibiza.. I follow the signs for the port and there it is... the fortress on the hill... the church.. old Ibiza... and it's gorgeous!!!! On the street there are a million people even though it's morning... I didn't think... but isn't Ibiza the city that lives at night??? I'll discover with pleasure that this city never sleeps... in the morning you find the little old lady doing her shopping but you also find groups of wasted people still wandering around from the night before... but it's noon!!!!!... We eat Paella, drink sangria, go shopping and then we go to see Playa d'en Bossa today... The beach is huge!!! The water is gorgeous....
too bad about the 6540 boats moored there..... Here you find all the young people who are in Ibiza Town...... moral of the story: if you're single and you've got game.... Here you'll find exactly what you're looking for..... I'm in a relationship and.. I can't fool around even when girls stop me.....!!!! You know what a mess?

Day 41 Aug 2006
Ibiza Day
Ok Ok... Coming to Ibiza with your girlfriend is a waste... but what can you do??? Oh well.... Today after the day at the beach in San Vicente we go for an aperitif and where do you go for the most "In" aperitif in Ibiza? But of course, come on, to Cafe del Mar in San Antonio!!!!! Beautiful place! (a bit crowded with English people and a bit expensive) where you enjoy one of the most beautiful sunsets on the island! Must see! A gorgeous girl gives us tickets for Space and Amnesia and so tonight we're going clubbing!!! The clubs in Ibiza are out of the ordinary... Super expensive, super huge, super crowded, super hot... in short.. Over the top in everything!!!
Are We Acting Silly???
Day 52 Aug 2006
West Coast
We get back from the club at 7 when the sun is already pretty high..... We decide to go out around noon to go down and see the coast that separates San Vicente from Eivissa. I have to tell the truth.... I wasn't expecting such a beautiful sea.... All over the island the sea is comparable to our Sardinia but in some places it's even more beautiful..(now Sardinia lovers will start a war....).... Definitely worth seeing....
Formentera..
Day 63 Aug 2006
North Coast
The north coast is our stop.... After an evening spent drinking Rum and cognac (the veteran is Spanish cognac.. very good) we wake up and point the nose of the Micra toward the north coast.... Portinax and surroundings.... The weather isn't the best.... But this is the only rocky area of the island and girls, as we know, don't like rocks.... I still manage to do a few rounds with mask and snorkel.... Nice seabed and lots of fish......!
Es Canar little market
Day 74 Aug 2006
Space. El divino. Amnesia. Privilege. Pacha. Bora Bora
Friday..... We're going dancing!!!!! Relax day at the hotel!!! Tonight we're going to bailar!!!! The wild night of Eivissa makes itself felt as soon as you arrive at the port... Thousands of boys and girls Dressed as Hippies mix in the little streets of the center.... And in the club you see the worst things..... men with men... women with women.... Elderly people with girls barely in their 20s.... In short, a brothel!!!!!
People from Ibiza!!
Day 85 Aug 2006
Manumission By Privilege
Tonight in Ibiza there's Manumission...the party of parties on the island...... At Privilege (the most beautiful club I've ever seen... refined atmosphere... selection at the entrance... Serious stuff!!!) Privilege holds 120,000 people inside...but at Manumission there are at least 170,000.... and you can still dance (that gives you an idea of the size).. 60 euros without a drink and 21 euros for a cocktail inside...I'm just saying!
Cala San Vicente
Day 99 Aug 2006
Es Canar
Wednesday in Ibiza means: Es Canar Hippy Market!!!! This market is truly something to see... thousands of knick-knacks at fairly reasonable prices..... I bought a Colombian hat..... you can only find it there........Hehehehe!!!! Note the female tourists who practically walk around naked because of the heat.......
Cala Tarida
Day 1010 Aug 2006
Formentera
Today.. Thursday the 10th and the last day we'll have the Micra.... The night before we decide to wake up early and go to nothing less than FORMENTERA!!!! Departure from Es Canar at 9.... The catamaran stops at Sant Eulalia to pick up more people and there something really bad happens...It starts to rain!!!!!!! It rains, the wind blows and it's cold.... us there looking fine like surfers...with flip-flops and tank tops we're forced to take shelter inside the catamaran..... we arrive at La Savina, the port of Formentera, and it's still raining.... How sad!!! Oh well, I, daring as always, rent the scooter anyway..... Let's go...under pouring rain we head to Es Pujol.... We arrive alive but soaked and take refuge in a bar.... Es Pujol is like our Porto Cervo in Sardinia... Everyone a bit posh wandering around... gorgeous women.... and us? camped out with towels because of the cold...
but I don't give up!!!!! It stops raining for 10 minutes... we jump on the saddle and look for the famous Las Illetas... We arrive... and there I discover that paradise maybe isn't in heaven... shades of azure blue green color this corner of the world.... Maybe because it was raining, maybe because of the cold, but there are maybe 15 people on this long strip of super white sand... truly a spectacle!!!! I even go for a swim, heedless of the lightning striking offshore..... After about an hour with no rain..hopeful we head toward Es Calò... result? We get caught in a hailstorm the likes of which I've never even experienced in Milan!!!!!! I leave Formentera and with it also a piece of my heart...
Bora bora Beach
Day 1112 Aug 2006
Italy Here We Come...
10:00 we leave our nice room that for two weeks has gathered our bodies wrecked by the rhythms of the island... I'm very sad...The weather is cloudy and on TV they're showing Milan under a deluge.... I lose the desire to go back but vacations are beautiful also because they end... They end????? no way.... The day after tomorrow I'll be in Stintino, that's true!!!!!!
Okay... A night in your own bed is always welcome..... but it's been pouring in Milan ever since I landed at Malpensa... All right, let's stay calm... I have a booking for tonight's ship but where do you find, on August 14, an agency that will print your tickets for you??? I go around from 10 in the morning until 2 and I find one!!!!! I've got the tickets.... the train ones too.... ok, off we go... alone this time!!!!! Heartwarming goodbye at the station with my girlfriend and.... Train departing... I'm here... alone.. on the train that will take me to Genoa... Ibiza is still clear in my head!!! But another journey has already begun! Genoa 7:00 pm: I arrive and realize I have to walk quite a stretch... patience, and thank heavens for the I-pod keeping me company!!! Luckily the ship is half empty and I even find a single cabin for 20 euros...
what more could I want??? I sleep blissfully... and it's the first trip I've taken alone and the tension eases as soon as I shut myself in the cabin.... tomorrow I'll be on another island..another country but always in the FABULOUS MEDITERRANEAN!!!
Stintino
Day 1315 Aug 2006
Ferragosto!
I disembark at 06:30 in the morning... the sun is out.. it feels good... The smell of Sardinia is unmistakable.... I stop for a moment to watch the sunrise and then I spot my group of friends waiting for me outside... I'm here, I made it!!!! They immediately take me to another paradise...La Pelosa in Stintino... What can I say? Could it get any better? Ferragosto in Stintino.....
Paradise coast
Day 1421 Aug 2006
And it's really over now....
The week in Sardinia flies by like a feather in the wind.... light but very fast.... I was staying in Badesi in the gulf of Alghero... the beach was Cala Rossa... a sight to behold... but light years away from the wonders of Ibiza... tonight I'll take the ship.... then the train.... then Milan. but the worst thing is that tomorrow it's back to the Office....
