Minorca is really lovely, it exceeded our expectations.... We stayed at the hotel Playa Azul in Cala en Porter, very pretty and comfortable, the international cuisine was good too.... the only minor drawback is the 180 steps to get down to the beach... but since on holiday you relax and a bit of movement doesn't hurt, especially because over the course of our holiday we discovered there really is a lot of walking to do... It is definitely an island to explore; I recommend hiring a car rather than a scooter because the roads are not great... not to be missed are the white beach of Son Bou and Santo Tomás, they really deserve it; Cala Mitjana and Cala Mitjaneta for us the most beautiful, after half an hour's walk through a wood you come out at this beautiful tropical cove..... Cala Macarella and Cala Macarelleta are very beautiful too....
all the white-sand beaches are mainly in the south, but a trip to the north is definitely worth it for Cala Pregonda, a beautiful red-sand beach... and Fornells, a little fishing village famous for its lobster soup..... I almost forgot.. a sure stop is the Cova d'en Xoroi at sunset, a beautiful place-disco perched overlooking the sea...
