For this long holiday weekend three of us set off, me, Bello and Guido. We had arranged to go and visit our friend Paolo at Trevignano Romano, a place on Lake Bracciano. Around 3.00, after coming back from a night of fun and revelry, Bello and I, already ready to leave, went to pick up Guido. Because of the bad weather our destination was about to change. Going to Lake Bracciano in the cold and rain just did not appeal to us, so by common agreement we set off for the Slovak capital. We travelled all night through Slovenia (truly enchanting scenery) and a small part of Austria to reach our destination around 14.00. After parking the car we immediately went looking for a hotel and after about an hour we settled into the very strange HOTEL SPIRIT. Never seen such a hotel!! Anyway I recommend it. Good quality-price ratio.
Bratislava as a city is not bad and, for a European capital, it is not even that big and is easy to get around. It is a city of about 500,000 inhabitants on the Danube, at the foot of the Little Carpathians. The old town when we arrived was a building site!!
On the first day we had dinner at the famous Slovakian Pub where you eat well and don't spend much. In the evening, following 4 beautiful girls, we ended up in a place in the center where, however, we were unable to move because of the too many people crowded inside. Then on the advice of some girls we went to the Hysteria pub where between beer and vodka we perhaps drank a bit too much. Anyway we had fun....The rest of the evening can only be told by our Bello....
After the day spent wandering aimlessly around the city, in the evening, having gotten out of the taxi, we were immediately "picked up" by 2 girls with whom we went to a nice place in the center. Honestly we thought they were semi-professionals but in the end they didn't make us any strange proposals and we spent the whole evening with them, also going to a nice place on the outskirts where, however, we almost got into a fight with a "giant"....a real giant!!
After lunch in an Italian restaurant that I would strongly advise against, we began the return journey, this time skipping Slovenia and taking the more convenient Austrian motorways. In the evening at around 20:00 we stopped to visit Innsbruck, where we spent the evening and then set off again around 1:00 in the morning towards Italy.
We arrived at Lake Garda at 6:00 in the morning, where after a troubled sleep on a pier we spent the whole day and then headed home late in the evening after also visiting the Sanctuary of Caravaggio.
