The condition of the train that took us from Belgrade to Timisoara was really terrible. After leaving the station of the Romanian city, having changed our money into the local currency, we headed for the centre and settled into the Hotel Lido, at Iosif Bulbuca no. 18-20. Here too, as in Belgrade, an excellent quality-price ratio, even though inside there are many “little vampires” who, at sunset, start strolling through the streets of the city. Timisoara is known as the “City of Parks and Flowers” thanks to its many green spaces, which help give it a pleasant and welcoming look. For us it will remain famous for another reason. For the night I can recommend the university area of the city, where there are clubs, bars, discos and everything that means fun. An area easily reached with cheap taxis. Naturally, you always have to negotiate the price before setting off.
Day 16 Jan 2006
Belgrade
We literally fled from Timisoara on the morning of the 6th after a very, very strange evening..in the end, though, even if we had fun, it was better to get away from this city. The return trip to Beograd was nothing short of adventurous. We crossed the border between Romania and Serbia on foot!!!! Once we arrived in the Serbian capital we settled in at Hotel Beograd (much cheaper than Hotel Balkan but also less comfortable).

Day 28 Jan 2006
Milan
We arrived in Milan on Sunday afternoon after a very long train journey, passing through Ljubljana and Venice again.
What can I say, we never reached our destination (Transylvania)…….but what a trip!!!
