I had wanted to make this trip for a long time and had always thought the best would be a cruise on the postal boat, but it's very expensive, so I planned the trip as a coach tour, me and my wife with a couple of friends. It goes without saying that this country is very expensive, but for the money spent, the emotion of this trip repays everything. We stayed in 6 different hotels, all excellent both as accommodation and as food. The cost is around 1500 euro per person. The places are all beautiful for those who love nature; indeed Norway has so much, so much water — on all the roads you notice streams or little waterfalls coming down from so many, so many mountains — and then they have so much wood. The thing you always notice in the mountain areas is that you don't see a person on the street, nor even at the windows, where they don't have iron or wooden shutters.

They have so much space but small roads. The most beautiful cities are Bergen, then Ålesund. Another thing that struck me was the calmness of the people; for example, on the roads the maximum limit is 50, people drove in single file and nobody said anything, whereas back home everyone honked or overtook

Day 113 Jul 2012

departure

At last we set off, after 15 years of various attempts, here we are leaving for the great Norway. We leave from Naples at 18.20, us perfectly on time while the plane leaves 45 minutes late; we were a little worried about the connection we had in Berlin, luckily it lands at 21.15, we all run through Berlin airport in time for the Berlin-Oslo flight. Once in Oslo the taxis are very expensive, so we opt for the flybussen which for 300 nok for two takes us to Oslo station where our Hotel Scandic Byporten is located

Day 315 Jul 2012

Oslo-Otta

After breakfast we put our suitcases on the coach where the Italian-speaking guide and the Norwegian driver welcome us. We set off for the visit of Oslo at Frogner Park where you admire Vigeland's sculptures, which represent life; having left Oslo we visit a little wooden church at Ringbu, then continue to the mountain hotel, very welcoming, where outside it is 10°C; the novelty is that it never gets dark

Day 416 Jul 2012

trolls' road-Aalesund

After breakfast we go down the valley in great cold, we pass through the middle of the mountains with plenty of waterfalls and plenty of snow, we get onto the Trollstigen road, very steep, we stop near a waterfall where the water reaches the road. After lunch we arrive at Aalesund, a beautiful city where we take photos from above, then go down into the city. After leaving the suitcases in a first-class hotel (Rica Parken Hotel), we go for a stroll around this city; it's raining and cold, but it's beautiful all the same, to admire all these colourful buildings

Day 517 Jul 2012

fjord of GEIRANGERFJORD

After breakfast a very long day awaits us, as always it's cold and raining, after many kilometres we arrive at Geiranger where at 11 o'clock the fjord 1 ferry awaits us for the mini cruise, it's too beautiful doing this mini cruise, we notice various waterfalls among these the seven sisters, very beautiful. Once we've arrived on land we continue towards the Briskedal glacier, we arrive at the top of the glacier on foot, it rains a lot, we admire the glacier with the blue snow from the effect of the light, in the evening we arrive at Skei where we find an isolated village with no people on the streets

Day 618 Jul 2012

bergen

After breakfast we visit the glacier museum, then we go to catch the ferry for the crossing on the Sognefjord where the longest and deepest fjord in the world is, this crossing lasts about 2 hours, once we've disembarked at Gudvangen we go to what is in my opinion the most beautiful city: BERGEN, where we admire the Hanseatic quarter with the colourful little houses, the fish market, and then take the Fløibanen from where you admire the whole town of Bergen, it's a fantastic panorama, it's a beautiful evening with the sun and it's not that cold

Day 719 Jul 2012

geilo

After breakfast we have about 3 hours left before setting off again and we continue our visit to Bergen with a bit of shopping. At 11 o'clock sharp we set off to visit the Voeringfoss waterfall, nothing exceptional given that we've seen so many, they're almost all the same. This day is a bit dead, we travel to arrive in the evening at GEilo, a stunning first-class hotel welcomes us, very warm, the evening is freezing cold but it's not raining

Day 820 Jul 2012

We're almost at the end of our tour, in fact we travel to return to Oslo, but we stop to visit another museum for those who want to, however we took advantage of the fact that there was so much sun to enjoy it, we arrive at Oslo around 1 pm where the guide leaves us
