The story · 4 days

We travelled with Ryanair and landed at Eindhoven. The hotel we chose is the King Hotel, right in the centre but a rat hole disguised as a hotel. Not recommended. Between the two of us we spent about 600 euros, including food, accommodation, transport and museum visits. Not to be missed: the Van Gogh Museum and the Anne Frank House.

Day 13 Mar 2011

arrival

We left Ciampino right on time on a Ryanair flight and landed two hours later at Eindhoven. Outside the station we took bus 401, which for just 3 euros took us to the central station. We took an intercity that in an hour and a half took us to Amsterdam. The central station is very beautiful and I recommend going to see the first-class waiting room at platform 2, which has been turned into a bar but has kept its original furnishings. Don't miss it. We bought the day ticket, which for 7 euros allows you to use all the public transport you want for 24 hours. We then went to the hotel. Did I say hotel? I meant dump. The hotel I chose from the internet turned out to be very dirty, and for the modest sum of 100 euros a night they didn't even give us clean towels. Avoid it carefully. As soon as we dropped off our bags, we ventured out to discover the city.

Unfortunately it was terribly cold, and after dinner at an excellent Indian restaurant we went to bed.

Day 24 Mar 2011

We got up and after a quick breakfast, off we rushed to explore the city. We headed toward the station to have a better look at it, and then we visited the sex museum. Hilarious. We spent the day visiting the canals, the flower market, the diamond factory, and in the evening the red-light district. Of course!
