We will sail among the "Three Sisters", Malta-Comino-Gozo. Here is our incredible Trip for the 25 April and 1 May long weekends in Malta with
Saturday: Boarding in Malta, in the Marina adjacent to Valletta. Depending on your arrival you can visit Valletta by taking one of the historic buses and in a couple of stops enter the historic capital of the Knights of Malta. A Unesco Heritage site, Valletta, built in the 1600s, is a fortress-city, called the "Most Humble City", "a city built by gentlemen for gentlemen". Walking through the streets of Valletta you can cross fascinating historic places and glimpse wonders behind every corner: votive statues, niches, fountains and heraldic coats of arms on the parapets. Dinner and overnight on board at mooring.
Sunday: A day dedicated to discovering Malta. After breakfast on board, with the typical buses of Malta we will go to the nearby Sliema and St Julian, which are among the liveliest and most attractive localities of the island. The picturesque Spinola Bay is still used by fishermen, whose traditional boats are moored in front of the characteristic little restaurants. Return on board for an aperitif and ready for dinner.
Monday: Breakfast and ready to set sail for a sail towards Comino and Gozo. In 1 hour and a half we will reach the famous Blue Lagoon at Comino for lunch and relaxation on board, and in the early afternoon we will set sail towards the nearby Gozo. Immersed in myth, it is thought that Gozo is the legendary island of Calypso mentioned in Homer's Odyssey, a peaceful, mystical, remote place. Baroque churches and stone farmhouses outline the landscape. Overnight on board.
Tuesday: Breakfast and ready to set sail for the circumnavigation of Gozo and to discover this fascinating island and its coasts. The "Inland Sea" is a small salt lake that joins Gozo to the Mediterranean Sea through a narrow tunnel surrounded by rocks. Gozo offers several unspoilt bays, niches and sandy beaches that allow you to sunbathe or sail...have lunch and spend a relaxing day at sea! You will come to see the famous "Fungus Rock", known in Maltese as Hagret il generale (the General Rock). It is a rock 65 metres high and 60 metres from the mainland, completely surrounded by the sea, and it is located at the mouth of a splendid bay, next to the Azure Window. In the late afternoon we will return to Gozo for a free evening and overnight on board.
Wednesday: Breakfast and ready to sail towards Malta and its coasts; we will return in the late afternoon to the marina near Valletta. Free evening in the venues of Paceville, a district of Malta famous for its nightclubs, bars, pubs and restaurants, which has become the nerve centre of the island's nightlife. Overnight on board.
Thursday: Free day to explore the interior of Malta. We will rent a vehicle all together (car or scooter) to reach Mdina, historic stronghold and homeland of the Knights. It will be beautiful and fun to go into and lose ourselves among the alleys of the Old City, which holds the title of Città Notabile and still preserves a monumental appearance. Then towards Popeye Village, a suggestive fishing village that became famous for having been in 1980 the set of the musical 'Popeye', now an incredible colourful little town with coloured houses, bars and little restaurants. Dinner and Overnight on Board.
Friday: Breakfast and ready to set sail towards the South of Malta until we sail towards its imposing sea stacks and descend towards the town of Marsaxlokk, where after lunch you can go ashore to visit it and see the characteristic fishing boats, called Luzzu. In the late afternoon we will return to moor at Valletta for a last evening together of fun in the venues of Paceville or in Valletta. Overnight on board.
Saturday: Breakfast and disembarkation at around 10:00....ready to set sail for a new Adventure!
