The story

I reached the island of Malta on a ferry that left Catania in the evening. The next morning Valletta welcomed me wrapped in a blanket of fog. Having climbed the hill that hosts the centre of the capital I visited the Cathedral, the Fortress, the market, the pedestrian streets going up and down, all in memory of the Knights who moved here from Rhodes. In the afternoon, with a scooter rented in Sliema, in the ancient walled city of Rabat made up of pale-coloured buildings, then to the prehistoric monuments of Zurrieq and back to Sliema. Dinner in a characteristic trattoria in Valletta made me miss the ferry to Catania so I was forced to stay overnight on the island. The following day, on a typical Maltese bus to Marfa on the strait that divides Malta from the small Comino and from Gozo. Back to Valletta and from there to the airport from where I flew to Catania.

Malta is quite interesting but it's certainly not one of the best destinations I've reached.
