Passing Through Macedonia

I visited Macedonia as part of a trip with my Fiat Tipo that included Yugoslavia (Serbia, Montenegro, Vojvodina, Kosovo), Bulgaria, Northern Greece and Mount Athos. Entering the country from the Yugoslav-Kosovar border at Deneral Jankovic and quickly crossing the modern capital Skopje, I reached the tourist lakeside resort of Ohrid on the lake of the same name. This little town is clean and tidy and deserves a short stop. Overnight stay in a hotel in Bitola and the next morning crossing into Greece through the Niki border. If you don't have to cross it to reach other countries, you can skip coming here.
