The story

Last stop of our Baltic journey.. Lithuania! The first stop of the trip was the coast, with a visit to the 2 towns of Neringa and Palanga... the latter is an excellent seaside resort; in fact here the water is warmer than in Estonia and we were able to enjoy a great swim, thanks also to the sandy beaches! Neringa, on the other hand, I liked especially for the adjoining forest... with several bizarre wooden sculptures, like fairy-tale creatures.. you can see some in the photos. Then, leaving the coast, we head inland to visit Siauliai, a town famous not so much for what is inside it, but for the Hill of Crosses just outside it... a spectacle!! Thousands and thousands of crosses of every size, material and colour are set one beside another, so important a place that it was visited even by the pope in the early 1990s. We then move south..

with a visit to the 2 largest centres, Kaunas and the capital Vilnius... Kaunas, which before I knew only for its basketball team, I could see is a pretty city famous above all for its old town and its fortress, or what remains of it, and it is full of really beautiful boys and girls heheh! The capital instead is the classic example of a Russian city that wants to westernise.. worth seeing are the numerous churches that fill the city and some interesting museums, such as the KGB one and the Genocide one... now it's time to go home, but first nobody can stop us from a nice stop in Poland!
