A tiny state in the heart of the Alps, we visited it because we studied it at school!!! A long time ago now... but a wonderful experience.

Day 116 Mar 2008

Arrival

The weather isn't the best; in fact it starts to rain, but that doesn't stop us. We park in the center and, since it's Sunday, the parking is free. We take a stroll around the center, visiting the two churches of Fraumunster and Grossmunster, both very beautiful. Unfortunately the rain becomes persistent, so we decide to set off for Liechtenstein, our last stop. The hotel is in Trinsberg and you reach it by driving along a fairly winding road; we find snow but it doesn't cause us any trouble. The hotel is very nice, Kulm, and we pay 127 CHF with breakfast. We explore the little village on foot even though it's drizzling… The hotel also has a restaurant where we had dinner, and just think, it's a restaurant that serves only fish… I think one of the few fish-only restaurants in the heart of the Alps. We had a wonderful dinner and then off to bed.

Last day, we visit the capital, Vaduz, souvenir photos and various little trinkets for friends, and the postcards that are a must. There's not much life.. lots of people working and few tourists. The prince's castle stands majestically, but it can't be visited. So after another walk through the center of Vaduz, we get in our car and set off for Heidi's town!!!

You can read the rest in the Switzerland trip. This was the last stop. bye and see you on the next trip
