The second and intermediate stop of the Baltic countries was Latvia.. perhaps the one of the 3 countries I liked most! Above all for its capital, which is the largest of the 3 as well as being truly beautiful. Riga has many things to see, above all the bridge that divides the city into 2 parts, the very characteristic old town, the church of St Peter, the cathedral, the castle, the great monument to freedom and the houses called the "Three Brothers", which offer an excellent perspective on Riga's development over the centuries. We then moved to Jurmala to try a dip in the Baltic Sea.. an idea I dropped almost immediately, since I cared about my skin! The journey then continued to Rundale, with a visit to the town and the famous Pilsrundale palace of the Dukes of Courland, with a beautiful collection of paintings, furniture and other objects that give this place an imperial sumptuousness.
Finally the town of Bauska, near the border with Lithuania... where the ruins of the castle stand.
