In autumn it is wonderful for the colours of its woods and for the chance to fish in the lakes and streams. Renowned for its abundance of porcini mushrooms, it is a graceful little town surrounded by mountains and crossed by the Taro river. In summer it offers an excellent temperature and the chance to reach several seaside spots within an hour's drive, such as the Ligurian Cinque Terre, or Parma.
