An important archaeological visit by the Archeoclub of Ragusa to the Mycenaean site of THAPSOS (Syracuse), today known as the Magnisi peninsula; a hundred people with a double-decker bus and several cars following, a splendid sunny day made a careful visit to the site possible, accompanied by Dr. Lorenzo Guzzardi, Director of the Archaeology section of the Superintendency of Syracuse. Lunch at the beautiful OPEN LAND restaurant on viale Epipoli in Syracuse, excellent in every respect; in the afternoon a visit to the Euryalus Castle and finally to Ortygia for the temples of Apollo (the oldest in Sicily) and Athena.
