The story

Tagliacozzo (AQ) is part of the Club of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy. The most beautiful villages in Italy is a club that gathers small Italian centres of marked artistic and historical interest. It was founded in March 2001, on the initiative of the National Association of Italian Municipalities (ANCI), with the aim of helping to safeguard, conserve and revitalise small centres, municipalities but sometimes even individual hamlets, which, being outside the main tourist circuits, risk, despite their great value, of being forgotten with consequent decay, depopulation and abandonment.

Festivals First Sunday of September: Feast of Sant'Emidio, San Rocco and the Madonna dell'Oriente.
