The Archeoclub d'Italia, Ragusa branch, organises a guided visit to Entella, an Elymian city famous for the issuing of decrees, with a tour of the necropolis, the ancient walls, the great public warehouse of the Hellenistic age where two large pithoi were found, the ancient dwellings, and the remains of two castles from the medieval and Arab periods; in the afternoon, after lunch at the Rocche del Pomo restaurant (excellent in every respect, tel. 329.1189138 - 333.7330148, ask for Mr Petralia Pasquale and his daughter Rossella), we continue with a visit to the ancient monastery of S. Maria del Bosco from the 13th century, one of the largest in Sicily. The day ends in the cheerful little village of Contessa Entellina with a visit to the antiquarium and some churches of the Byzantine rite, and a good glass of locally produced wine.
