The story
After a two-year break, we went skiing for three days at Roccaraso, exactly two hours from our home in Rome. As we had been told, the ski facilities are numerous and the slopes are many and beautiful. It snowed, though, for 24 hours straight, and even if the landscape before us was straight out of a fairytale, we couldn't ski as much as we would have liked. If Roccaraso is a fairly modern town and almost entirely lacking in character, the nearby Pescocostanzo is a typical village, very very pretty, with a beautiful mother church.
