We set off, four of us, on a super-cheap flight from Catania bound for Lampedusa. House rented for 100 euros for 3 nights. Three scooters and a quad rented for a few euros to tour the island's beaches. Plentiful meals with hearty aperitifs (fish-based) in the afternoon and dinners in various venues in the evening. Not to be missed is the boat trip around the island and a visit to the splendid Rabbit Beach. With a budget of not even 300 euros in total, in Lampedusa you spend a weekend of "tropical holidays", relaxing in the very places that enchanted Modugno, and where Baglioni decided to spend his summers.... in the blue painted blue...
