The story

We arrive at the ancient Greek site founded by the Syracusans in the 7th century BC and begin the visit: the walls - the Koreion extra moenia of the 6th century BC - the Asklepieion, dedicated to the god Aesculapius, the temple of Demeter of the 3rd century BC, the Greek theatre and more. After a succulent fish lunch at the "U Piscaturi" restaurant in the nearby village of Portopalo, we go to visit the famous Roman Villa del Tellaro of the 4th century AD with its precious mosaics - in situ - divided into various mosaic registers, with hunting scenes, with the famous scene of the ransoming of Hector's body, etc.... As a tourist guide, I certainly recommend a careful visit. ENZO PIAZZESE - TOURIST GUIDE IN SICILY - 348.2229891
