An unusual Sunday: we set off to visit Grazzano Visconti at nine in the morning and, because of countless road diversions and the closed bridge over the Po, we arrive at our destination two hours later... Grazzano Visconti is a reconstruction of a pretty medieval village, but the castle unfortunately cannot be visited... and the park was closed too... We go into the IAT and a very kind lady tells us about the beauties of the province of Piacenza; we are left open-mouthed because we knew nothing about them... unfortunately, but we did our homework and now we have another goal: to visit the provinces of Parma and Piacenza and see all (or nearly all) the castles of the duchy. Looking at the map we decide to visit Rivalta Trebbia castle, very beautiful, it costs 7 euros.
The very knowledgeable guide showed us some rooms and above all the tower, from which you enjoy a breathtaking view over the Trebbia river.
We got the Ducal Castles Card, which costs two euros and entitles you to discounts on castle tickets, hotels, inns and also the Fidenza Outlet. Between the provinces of Parma and Piacenza there are 20 affiliated castles. It was an unusual Sunday; we thought we would visit Grazzano Visconti and instead our itinerary changed... and luckily so! Bye and see you on the next trip.
