The story

Private property of the current descendants of the Counts Roero, the castle stands on a hill and is without doubt one of the best-preserved medieval castles in Piedmont. It presents itself as a large quadrilateral on the outside; inside there's a courtyard and the great state rooms: the Hall of Arms, the Hall of Coats of Arms and the billiard room. The castle towers above from the road and you can see its imposing size and its good condition. The entrance is closed by a gate because it is inhabited. Some visits are possible by booking in advance and only in certain periods, for a fee. It also has a beautiful verdant park/garden with plants and flowered beds. Monticello is a small settlement in the upper Langa, near Alba; from the top of the little village you can see the farmland below. A short distance away are a church and a small old village in medieval style.

Address: at the top of the hill of Monticello Monticello d'Alba CN
