This week in Vigo di Fassa takes on for CAT&DVD a deep meaning that goes beyond the simple trip to the spot overlooking the splendid Dolomite panorama. TEo is with us! At the end of the winter, like a flower that anticipates spring, our little first-born Matteo was born. For the first time, then, we broke the bond of the couple and consciously, but happily, thought of a trip that went beyond our own needs and desires. A trip conceived and lived at "small scale", with reduced activities and routes to respect TEo's timing and above all with the aim of filling his young lungs with the fantastic mountain air. A trip that was "odd" at first, with slow walks and long stops, which as time went on gathered strength and made it unique and unforgettable.
Wrapped in and accompanied by his wonderful smiles, we chose Val di Fassa at the point that dominates the Undici and Dodici peaks and whose view stretches as far as the Marmolada. Behind us is the Catinaccio ski area, which marks the border with Alto Adige. Interesting too is the cultural and historical side of the village; traces of the ancient Val di Fassa can in fact be found in the Ladin architecture still visible in the hamlets of San Giovanni and Tamion. Not to be missed in Vigo is the grappa shop "Cianeva dala Sgnapa", where we bought a sweet elderflower liqueur. In the "Cianeva" the friendly and competent owner/producer told us how his grappa shop represents an attempt to revive the Trentino tradition of preparing liqueurs for every occasion.
His products are made according to the ancient recipes, with the same ingredients, which he gathers himself, and above all the same techniques.
Thanks to our friend, and future godfather, Gianmarco for sharing a splendid weekend with us.
