The story

Short list of the places visited:

Visit to Novacella Abbey (near Bressanone), a large monastic complex founded in 1142 and then gradually modified. The Abbey was at one time a self-sufficient small town that represented a stopping point for travellers and pilgrims between Germany and Italy.

The Marmolada. At 3343 metres it is the highest peak in the Dolomites. It is reached by taking the cable car that leaves from Malga Ciapela (1467 m) and goes up to Punta Rocca (3280 m). From up there the view is spectacular, 360° over all the other mountains and the valleys around. Up there is the highest museum in Europe (2950 m), the War Museum displaying war relics found in the area.

Tre Cime di Lavaredo. Located on the border between Veneto and Alto Adige, they are the symbolic mountain of the Dolomites. Walking around them as far as the Locatelli refuge we can admire them and also admire the climbers tackling their very difficult grade VI.

Passo Pordoi with a cable-car trip to the summit. The cable car takes you to the top of Sass Pordoi at 2950 metres, rightly called "the Terrace of the Dolomites". From there you can make wonderful excursions since there is a beautiful high plateau. For information.

Lake Misurina. A visit to Lake Misurina, the largest basin in Cadore, is a must.
