Monterosso-Vernazza-Corniglia-Manarola-Riomaggiore... the Cinque Terre... little villages perched on the mountains with a breathtaking view over a crystal-clear sea. They are linked by the train that stops in each one and above all by a beautiful footpath you can walk in about 5 hours, either east to west or the other way round. The path is easy, suitable for everyone and fantastic (the most demanding stretch is the one linking Monterosso to Vernazza; the most popular is the so-called "Via dell'Amore" linking Manarola to Riomaggiore... all paved, with safety barriers, picnic tables and 2 refreshment points).
Even the small centres of all 5 villages are very picturesque.
One downside: to access the path, whether you want to walk the whole thing or just a stretch, you need to buy the "Cinque Terre Card"; the one valid for 1 day costs €5 and also includes access to some museums and the lift up into the village... there's also a card that for €8 also includes all train travel. for info
