CINEMA & COMICS. Comic characters on the big screen.
Will Eisner, one of the masters of American and world comics, states: In our culture cinema and comics are the main means of transmitting stories through images... but their relationship with the reader is completely different. Cinema is a medium you watch, whereas comics ask its readers to participate. During a film, the reader (viewer) is confined in an environment strongly bound to transmitting a virtual experience to him, whereas in comics the reader is free to read at the pace he prefers. Moreover he is asked for a sort of intellectual contribution.
The protagonists of the exhibition are Kane's Batman and his cinematic double by Tim Burton, Bonelli and Galep's strip Tex and the film version by Giuliano Gemma; and then Diabolik, Kriminal, Valentina, Flash Gordon, Superman, the Franco-Belgian characters Tintin, Asterix, Lucky Luke (three absolute myths), Michel Vaillant up to the very recent Spiderman and Batman.
