Venice

Straddling the end of May and the first days of June, we decided to treat ourselves to a short stay in one of the most beautiful art cities in the world! We were very lucky with the weather, because we found days of late spring that let us walk around a great deal! The first thing that comes to mind when I think of Venice is certainly the romantic gondola ride we took... gliding along the Grand Canal and through the narrowest, most hidden alleys left me breathless! The trip to Murano was curious, where we visited the glass factory, and colourful Burano was very unusual and cheerful too! We stayed at the Best Western Montecarlo, an excellent hotel just a few minutes' walk from St Mark's Square.
