The story

The ancient city of Aeclanum, near Mirabella Eclano (Av), stood on a plateau of triangular shape with the apex to the south, easily accessible only from the opposite side, where the Via Appia passed, crossing the settlement from west to east. The excavations have brought to light the public Baths, the Market Square, the shops and remains of walls in opus reticulatum. The materials are displayed in the Museo Irpino in Avellino.
