The story

Having to work even on my birthday, you can organise the day so that you still feel on holiday. Visits to clients and then straight to the port to board the ferry that will take me to Carloforte on the Island of San Pietro, where a Genoese dialect is spoken. The crossing, though short, and hearing different languages will still make me feel like I'm travelling. With my backpack and camera in tow I walked the pedestrian lanes of the centre of Carloforte, browsing among little shops and small squares and taking photographs until lunchtime, when I went into a small characteristic place to eat local specialties. In the afternoon, having picked up the bicycle, I rode the coastal road until I reached the columns....................
