The story

Near the municipality of Chiusdino stands the beautiful Castle of Frosini. Of very ancient origin (it is in fact mentioned in documents from the 11th century), it was owned by the Counts of Gherardesca and certainly played a very important role, above all for its strategic position on the Massetana road that led from Siena to the Colline Metallifere and the Maremma. In the 13th century the Castle became part of the domain of the Republic of Siena. There is a very beautiful church, the work of the Knights Templar, and today also a very nice pizzeria.
