fly and drive trip. two of us set off from Trapani airport with Ryanair, arriving in Dublin. we'll spend most nights in a Best Western Hotel. After the first day spent wandering around the city, for the second we rely on a tour with PaddyWagonTours, to go and discover Belfast and the cliffs in the North of Ireland, discovering fairytale scenery and adventurous crossings over the North Sea; the Giant's Causeway are cliffs unique in the world for their characteristic shape, which looks carved by human hands; Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge is a suspension bridge between two high rocks at the northernmost point of Northern Ireland.
We rent the car on our return from Northern Ireland, to head towards Galway, the famous Cliffs of Moher, the Aran Islands, then down to the south of the island to visit the great Killarney National Park, Cork, Blarney Castle and its Blarney Stone, the Rock of Cashel... and finally return to the airport and leave our visibly dented car, without a rear plate and with a deformed wheel rim. With a budget of about 1,000 euros, a strong sense of adventure, some experience driving on unpaved roads (driving "on the wrong side"... by the way...), comfortable shoes for hiking in the parks, anyone can take on a holiday like mine, an experience worth telling. One piece of advice: in 2007 I went to Scotland, for me much more beautiful and evocative than Ireland; so I'd advise anyone who wants to visit both countries to go to Ireland first.
