Back to the Vatican after a few years.. more beautiful every time!

Back to Rome... so back to the Vatican too! Taking advantage of the hospitality of a Russian friend on holiday in Rome, I also took the chance to go and visit the city in her company.. and finally climb up to the dome to admire the beautiful view of Rome! Honestly I didn't have many memories, because even though it was about my tenth time in Rome, as usual I remembered nothing... the square was strangely not so crowded, unlike Rome itself, which was bursting with tourists, so a quick queue and Yana and I headed for the dome.. 550 steps to die for!! Almost an odyssey.. squeezed tight, little by little the queue grew and the heat gave you no respite.. luckily a fountain with fresh water saved our lives! On arrival, what a spectacle... the sky was clear and you could see the whole city perfectly; a breathtaking view. A quick descent and we plunge into the interior of the Basilica...

well, no need to say how beautiful it is... St Peter's is without doubt the most beautiful church in the world! Just a shame not to have seen the Vatican Museums... but oh well, they're only 2 hours from Rome, next time they certainly won't be missed.. see you Rome!
