Weihnachtsmarkt: German Christmas Markets

The story

for the Immaculate Conception long weekend we decide to go and visit our friends Ania & Gianmarco. four days spent in the splendid Weihnachtsmarkt (Christmas markets) wandering among the stalls, spinning on the rides (Matteo) but above all tasting food that's nothing short of phenomenal!

here are the dishes (in the exact order of tasting):

Reibekuchen (potato fritters with apple purée)

Spießbraten im Brötchen (pork shoulder with flatbread or bread) Bratwurst im Brötchen (sausage with flatbread or bread accompanied by mustard) Feuerzangenbowle (a traditional alcoholic drink, often prepared over the Christmas period and for the arrival of the new year) Crêpes with Nutella and wafer (not very typical but tasty all the same) Pommes (the LEGENDARY chips) Gluehwein (similar to mulled wine, served boiling hot in terracotta cups) Schnitzel mit Pommes (breaded and fried pork cutlet with roast potatoes finished in the pan) Fleischpfanne (the famous Heidelberg pan) Germknodel (a white ball of leavened bread dough with vanilla sauce; nothing special) Doner Kebab (on a plate the first time, in a bun the second time, at Lokanta Hasso'm, A&G's official supplier)
