The story

DIY trip. Three of us set off with a direct HLX flight from Palermo to Munich. Here we rent a car with Avis and tour Bavaria and the Romantische Strasse far and wide, sleeping 3 nights in inns (Gasthöfe, better than our three-star hotels) and the rest in hotels (in Augsburg and Munich). A holiday that contains many within it. We set off to discover the history of the mad King Ludwig, visiting his famous castles; to travel the Romantische Strasse, strolling along the walls of the magnificent towns of Rothenburg, Hamburg and others; to admire the landscapes on the border with Austria, passing through Garmisch; to spend a few hours in the Dachau camp, so as not to forget.... And we ended up at the table tasting German specialities, among venison, sausages and tankards of beer. Not to be missed: Munich, especially during the days of the Oktoberfest. Total spend under 1,000 euros.
