Setting off by camper from Belluno for Innsbruck, Frederikshafen, Freiburg (visit to the city). Stop at the Hirzberg campsite. (2nd day) Colmar (visit with camper parking area), Riquewhir (camper parking stop) and Ribeauvillé. Stop at Camping Communal Ribeauvillé. (3rd day) Ammerschwihr, Beblenheim, Hunawihr, Niedermorschwihr, Kaysersberg. Stop at camping Communal Kaysersberg. (4th day) Turckheim, Eguisheim. Stop at Camping Communal Eguisheim. (5th day) Eguisheim, Füssen. Visit to the castles of King Ludwig and to the little town with the Rottenbuch basilica and to the castle. (6th day) Return to Belluno via Bressanone, Brunico, Dobbiaco, Cortina. Notes: avoid (Lake Constance) the period around Pentecost (campsites super crowded). Freiburg campsite not suited to vehicles over 7 metres (difficulty manoeuvring) and quite cheap (21€/night). Colmar watch out for thefts.
Cheap French municipal campsites (14€ for 2 people+camper+electricity) quite close to the centre (1 km). Füssen take the first parking area (the one with the shed as it is less crowded and cheaper- 14€/night and showers for a fee). About 5 km from the castles (easy cycle path) and 1.5 km from the centre. Alsace: buy the wine (Beblenheim) and the peluche storks. Generally they speak German and English, not Italian. In many cases, speaking German we found courtesy and helpfulness (not so with French or English). In Austria watch out for speed cameras (+20 km/hour = 30€ fine) and have a vignette. In Germany watch out on the motorways: they drive like madmen (in less than 3 km we came across 2 accidents with 2 deaths....). In France pay attention to the signs (Green normal road, blue motorway).
