Interlude in Paris

Having to leave for a friend's wedding in Brazil, we opted for a transit with a flight change in Paris with 12 hours available. Since Paris remains among the cities I love most, I seized the chance for a quick visit with no particular destination, since I had already been there several times and didn't want to condition my visit. So from the airport we went down by metro to the station near the Eiffel Tower and started a nice walk to the Gare du Nord, to catch the scent of Paris and look at the avenues, the shops and whatever we found along the way. The day was overcast and cloudy and when we were approaching the metro station to return to the airport it began to drizzle; after all it was February.
