THE ECOLOGICAL HOUSE OF SERENITY

Combining the charm and elegance of Second Empire architecture (Napoleon III), our two superb apartments, furnished with light pine wood furniture, offer you comfortable rooms with high vaulted ceilings (3.5 m) and large double-glazed windows. The apartments thus offer you the advantage of plenty of space and much light. The apartments are functional and carefully furnished. The apartments therefore offer comfort and are equipped with everything needed to guarantee you an ideal family holiday.

Mrs CATERINA and her husband open the doors of their House of Serenity, located in Les Carroz d'Araches in Haute-Savoie, in every season, for family holidays, with friends, or as couples in love.

The charm of times gone by

Our two apartments can accommodate up to seven people each. The apartments consist of three rooms arranged with two bathrooms, two bedrooms furnished with two double beds, a sofa bed for two and a single bed. The large dining room incorporates a kitchen corner where you can prepare Italian and French culinary specialities. And to finish, annexed to the apartment there is a 20 m2 covered terrace at your disposal from which, for example, you can savour your breakfast while enjoying a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains.

A space immersed in a calm atmosphere of intoxicating pleasure

Our House, surrounded by a garden adorned with strawberries and flowers, is located near two "nurseries", supermarkets, restaurants, bars; it follows that it becomes an ideal place to welcome families with children and perhaps with grandmother when everyone finally needs to relax and recover their energy in contact with nature. In reality, in June and July, the children can pick the strawberries while their mother prepares the green beans that grow under the apartment windows and their father tastes the kiwis produced by the estate manager, in the sunny valley of the Arve river, while grandmother picks flowers to adorn a table rich in various organic products.

Excursions and Activities

Les Carroz is a wonderful place for walking or cycling excursions, since hundreds of km of well-trodden paths depart from it, crossing valleys, hills and mountains and providing endless opportunities to explore the high peaks. Every year the village organises a hot-air balloon festival in February and a mountain-bike race in June. Just 200 m from our apartment there is a sports complex consisting of: tennis courts, an archery site, a riding school, three swimming pools, a skateboard area, a skating rink, an ice rink, a football pitch, a fitness trail, play areas for children, and for the peace of young parents who love skiing, a nursery run by qualified staff who look after children from six months to six years. A crèche and ski schools will let you ski with your mind free of any worry.

Guides are at your disposal for excursions and for rides on sledges pulled by husky dogs or for rides in a horse-drawn carriage. Everything is designed to give parents the chance of a "young couple" escape!

Life at Les Carroz all year round

It is a charming village particularly suited to families; in fact its inhabitants, who live there all year round, are particularly hospitable. Village life centres on the central square where you can take advantage of interesting boutiques, a small supermarket, pleasant cafés with a terrace, as well as, every Tuesday, the open-air market that draws all the housewives to do all kinds of shopping. Just 15 minutes by car you can reach the Pierre Carre golf course. There are two nurseries for the little ones and two ski schools where lessons are given to people of every age and every level of skiing ability. Les Carroz is one of the five ski resorts along with Flaine, Morillon, Samoens and Sixt that make up the "Grand Massif" ski area, over which 265 km of pistes branch out.

HIGHLIGHTS

The House is 300 m from the village centre and 10 m from the House there is the stop of the free municipal bus service that takes you, in just 600 m, to the cable cars and the mechanical lifts, at the foot of the pistes. You have at your disposal a room for skis, bikes and other sports equipment. A large covered terrace offers you a magnificent panorama. A car park in the garden surrounding the house. Walnut cot, playpen, high chair, children's games. Loan of books, DVDs and videos for adults.

GOOD TO KNOW

The weekly stay runs from Saturday at 2.00 pm to the following Saturday at 10.30 am. Operating costs are included in the rent. A decreasing rate is foreseen according to the length of stay. The owners live on site. A stay with us can be considered as a wedding, anniversary or Christmas gift, and in general the occasion to get together with people you love to live unique moments. So don't hesitate any longer! In the House of Serenity you will be cuddled as in your parents' home but living something new and different while benefiting from a culture and a cuisine very complementary to the Italian one.
