At last my wife and I thought we'd take a short holiday in Paris, a place very close to Italy and easy to reach, since we had always been drawn to far-flung destinations. The next stop was New York. We stayed at the Hotel Louvre Saint Romain, a stone's throw from everything, the attic room very comfortable, prices very good. Besides visiting the city and almost all the important monuments, I can recommend a restaurant in Rue Saint-Honoré where you can enjoy raw fish, oysters, lobster, etc... very interesting, affordable prices. One day was devoted to Mont Saint-Michel with the Cityrama company; the agency is a few steps from the hotel, a very comfortable bus, but the lunch, included in the ticket, was terrible; the guides and the visit excellent; on the way back we went to complain and they gave us a free city bus tour. Very interesting is the antique market near the hotel.
