Legoland is certainly not one of the most important tourist destinations in Denmark, but it is probably one of the best known, perhaps behind the Little Mermaid. Getting to Legoland is not exactly easy: first of all, the homeland of the bricks that have thrilled children all over the world is in Billund, on the Jutland peninsula, in the centre of Denmark. For those coming from Copenhagen, take the train and get off (after a journey of an hour and a half) at Vejle and from there a bus that takes you to the small town of Billund. From Billund there are numerous free coaches that take you to the amusement park. Today the situation is different because from Vejle station there is a free coach that will take you to the amusement park. At the entrance it is also possible to hire a video camera (in case you don't have one) and then…you will enter the magical world of the little bricks.
Beautiful constructions, faithful reconstructions of the most important cities in the world and of monuments and natural sites. Everything very well kept and well displayed. Obviously there is also the possibility of buying constructions and models, to the joy of your children and why not, also of your own. Because it will surely come back to you too when you played with them. Apart from the amusement park, which can be visited in a day, Billund does not offer much more: a wonderful Danish countryside and a few beautiful farms. But in the end the main attraction remains the park.
