FROM SKAGEN TO LEGOLAND
After the dunes it starts to rain; between one downpour and another we visit the small town of Lonstrup. In the afternoon we complete our journey northwards, arriving at Skagen. We spend the night at Grenen right on the tip of Jutland.

We start the day with a nice walk at the "terminus" of Denmark; beyond the horizon lies Norway. We complete the visit in a souvenir shop. Before leaving Skagen we visit the church buried in the sand among the dunes. In the afternoon we set off for Aalborg, a beautiful city on a fjord. The extended daylight allows us to visit the small town and dine in a characterful place; to tell the truth the whole street is full of characterful places, you just have to choose. For the night we move to a campsite right on the fjord.

A morning of homework and cleaning in the camper. In the afternoon we hit the road again heading south, first stop Estrup Castle. The castle is very beautiful but by now it's closed, so we settle for a stroll through the gardens. We get back on the road and follow the daisy signs, a route designed for tourists who are in no hurry whatsoever — us! By evening we reach the village of Bonnerup Strand. We park in the large square in front of the harbor and enormous wind turbines. In the evening a mega storm turns the square into a big lake. In the morning a little man invites us to pay 80 Kroner for the night.

After a walk on the beach, we set off for Ebeltoft, where we visit a Frigate turned into a museum, complete with mannequins of sailors describing life on board. A Danish-style lunch and then off to Aarhus. Aarhus has preserved an old part of the city that was later integrated with period buildings transported there from all over the peninsula and turned into an open-air museum. The modern city also features examples of historic buildings mixed in with decidedly modern constructions.

On our route south we stop at Jelling with its little church and burial mounds. At the entrance of the religious building, a stone with inscriptions in runic alphabet. In the afternoon we resume our journey, which will take us to Legoland.
