Taking advantage of the 2 June holiday and the new fast ferry from Cesenatico, we set off (me, Cri V., Cri G. and Angela) on Saturday morning at dawn and in 2 hours arrived directly at Rovinj. Unfortunately the outward journey was a bit shocking for most of the passengers who, because of the swell, nearly all felt sick. These people.... have no constitution... I think I was the only one, or at most a couple of others out of 150-200, to have absolutely no problem at all. But I don't count... nothing bothers me and the swell relaxes me!! Anyway, at the end of it all we arrived and the sky was rather grey and gloomy and indeed shortly afterwards it started to rain

Day 12 Jun 2007

As I already said in the introduction, taking advantage of the June 2nd holiday and the new fast ferry from Cesenatico, we set off (me, Cri V, Cri G. and Angela) on Saturday morning at dawn and in 2 hours we arrived directly in Rovinj. Unfortunately the outward journey was a bit unsettling for most of the passengers who, because of the swell, almost all felt sick. These people.... have no constitution... I think I was the only one and at most another couple of people out of 150-200 who had absolutely no problem at all. But I'm not a fair comparison... nothing bothers me and the swell relaxes me!! Anyway, in the end we got there and the sky was rather grey and gloomy and in fact it soon started to rain. What a great start. Obviously the bus that was supposed to take us to the hotel was parked outside the centre so we also had to walk in the rain for quite a stretch!! Fantastic.

We arrive at the hotel... we settle in and it keeps raining... what a stress!! Fortunately for us there was a school group on a trip at our hotel and in the afternoon they gave us a lift to the centre of Rovinj. Meanwhile, fortunately, it also stopped raining a bit so we could wander around the town a little (me and the 2 Cris because Angela, still a bit shaken up by the journey, preferred to stay in bed). We sat in a bar to have something to drink, then we changed some money and had a look around. The centre is very beautiful, full of little alleys with shops and very nice little restaurants. In the evening, after dinner at the hotel, we went back to the centre by taxi; we walked around a bit but there weren't many people about so we sat in a bar for a drink and then went back to the hotel.
