For the second year running, DVD takes part in the work trip with Croatian and Brazilian colleagues to Zagreb. The programme is no different from the previous one: three days in the Croatian capital, one of them devoted to the project kick-off meeting and the rest spent between travel and visits (in the time available).
FLIGHT: Croatia Airlines
Rome (FCO) - Split (SPU) - Zagreb (ZAG) Zagreb (ZAG) - Dubrovnik (DBV) - Rome (FCO) A micro sandwich and a drink on the "international" leg; nothing on the domestic leg.
HOTEL: The Regent Esplanade Zagreb
Browsing on Expedia I find this information about the hotel: "The Regent Esplanade Zagreb has been classified in the following categories: Luxury Hotel. [...] Our luxury hotels are the perfect place to let the most demanding travellers find a home away from home". The 12 (I say twelve) towels provided (excluding the bathrobe) did in fact make me feel at home, where the bathroom takes on the not secondary role of a storeroom for TEO's bulky bits and pieces! An agreed price absolutely negligible compared with the service offered.
Where to Eat
ADRIA ZDRAVA HRANA D.O.O. Zagreb, Stojdraška 2 Not only do we dine in the same place as last year, but DVD orders exactly the same things to eat (tuna steak with capers and boiled potatoes sautéed in the pan). The fact, which leaves me not indifferent, can have two possible explanations. The first, decidedly less edifying, sees my senility begin its inexorable course; the second, more credited, sees me mindful of a sumptuous 2007 dinner that I couldn't forgo in 2008.
