The story

Our visit to Zagreb, on the way to Hungary which we had chosen to reach by car, lasted just under 24 hours, but it was enough to give us a sense of the small capital. The city showed itself to be lively and cheerful, even considering the festive period and the decorations, human-scale and well organised. We cannot call it beautiful and, honestly, not even rich in unmissable attractions. I believe Croatia's treasures lie elsewhere, but a stop is a must if you happen to be passing through this area
