Trips often begin before you set foot in the chosen destination. Weeks or months of study to find which corners of the country you want to visit, where to stay, how much time to devote to each attraction. Planning a trip to Croatia means combining culture and the artistic beauties to see with the natural ones, fabulous beaches, lakes and waterfalls, and so on; it means being able to afford, on a limited budget, countless and varied experiences. I tried to plan a trip that would let me see as much as possible while saving on accommodation and travel. We set off by car, mine!!, straight from home. Just the two of us... by now the (almost) perfect number. We take the ferry from Bari to Bar in Montenegro, and from there we head up as far as Slovenia. The first stop is Dubrovnik; we stay in an apartment just outside the city walls.
We visit the city in half a day, strolling through the streets of the centre; when the tour is over we decide to climb the walls to enjoy the view. After 2 days in Bosnia we re-enter Croatia, choosing Split as our base to take the ferry to the island of Brac, and on the way back to visit the enchanting towns of Trogir and Sibenik
..... work in progress.....
