At Summer Camp in Belgium, a Year Later

After a year, here I am again, with another group of kids from my town staying at Faulx-les-Tombes, a small and pleasant spot in the Ardennes. As last year (see the related itinerary) we are guests of the City of Etterbeek, which is twinned with my own municipality. An extremely pleasant stay at the Etterbeek camp, so far from the Belgian capital. The two weeks, however, will be short on outings: compared with the year before we'll have to settle for returning to Brussels for the canonical visits to the Grand Place and the little boy peeing, but no Atomium. Luckily they also take us to Han to tackle the legendary descent of the river Lesse, and this time, in the company of a friend, I'm even the first to reach the finish line with my canoe. But on the whole the stay at Faulx-les-Tombes, like the previous year, was truly pleasant, between sports, games and evening parties.

Two intense weeks that we won't easily forget.
